SEP 2007

Dear All,

Hope you have had a relaxing and beautiful summer. I am back with newly charged batteries, and as a piece of evidence here comes the first newsletter of the season!

Starting off in Stockholm where the centenary of Grieg's death is being celebrated with a two day festival next week. Oskar Ekberg and myself - the Ekberg/Sturfält Piano Duo - will perform the Symphonic Dances op.64 and the Norwegian Dances op. 35 at 6.00pm and 8.00pm respectively on Tuesday 4th September at the Nybrokajen 11 recital hall.
More info at www.grieg07.se

Then back in the UK, Marie Macleod and I will perform in this year's West Norfolk Music Festival at 7.30pm on Sunday 9th September in the All Saints Church in Stoke Ferry. Programme of Rózsa, Schumann, Valkare and . . . Grieg! More info at www.westnorfolkmusic.co.uk

And then for some more Grieg actually! In the Allhelgona church in Stockholm on Saturday 15th September, together with violinists Anna Wirdefeldt, Daniel Möller and Tobias Ringborg, plus cellist Marie Macleod, I will perform Grieg's complete sonatas for strings and piano! Starting time still to be confirmed - please keep an eye on my website.

After all that Grieg, I will go to China again for another recital tour - venues still to be confirmed, but I will post them on the website as soon as I know. Who knows, I might be programming some Grieg for these recitals. . .

Welcome to the concerts.
Best wishes

Martin Sturfält
